3 Months!

Happy FREEZING COLD Tuesday!  Happy FREEZING COLD New Year!  I hope everyone's 2014 is off to a fabulous start.  My mommy and daddy keep grumbling about the weather and overall winter we are having.  I'm sick of it too!  The walls are closing in on us!

Despite her baby turning 3 months and me 19 months, my mommy told me a Keith Urban update takes precedent.  If you recall, last time we wrote she was on a mission to win tickets.  Well, she didn't win tickets... BUT, she went from having no ticket (and pouting about it) to a text message the morning of the concert telling her of an available ticket, to learning it was in row 24 on the floor, to her friend being pulled onstage and get serenaded by him, to her getting to the front row, to her enjoying the concert up close and personal, to her running her fingers through this dude's hair and touching his sweaty chest... Yep, leave it to my mommy!  She's nuts...

3 Months!

Can you believe my baby sister is 3 months old today?  She is getting so big and I love to play with her.  I entertain her while she's swinging, bathing, eating, and sleeping.  Mommy gets irritated when I grab her and tickle her through the crib rails when she's trying to sleep.  I'm just making sure she's covered and cozy, mommy! Sheesh!  I can't wait until she can play with me in our toy room downstairs.  I got caught trying to bring her downstairs last week...  I was pulling her chair over (with her in the chair) to the stairs when mommy came out from the bedroom and asked me what I was doing with her.  I simply replied, "downstairs."  Apparently, that was almost a disaster.  I saw no harm.

I'm sure you're all wanting an ear update.  I had my followup appointment and PASSED the hearing test!  The tubes are open and in place... and doing their job.  Mommy hates when I ignore her because now she's certain I can hear.  But, I can only listen to her Keith Urban story so much!

Ummmm.... How come no one warned me about shots???  Here I thought I was going to my 2 month checkup to show the doctor how adorable I was!?!?  And bam!  The nurse comes at me like a spider monkey and poked the heck out of me.  I was ticked.  I definitely showed them how my lungs work.  Even after we got back home I would give my mommy the lip and whimper.  She kept telling me I was breaking her heart.  Well, guess what mommy?  That's what I was going for!  Anyways, I weighed 12 pounds, 9 ounces and was 24 inches long.  Off the charts for length!  I'm going to be a super model if I keep up with this height thing.  Ok, no... you're right. Perhaps a basketball or volleyball player?  Oh, who am I kidding?  Mommy says I'm only playing softball.

Well, I hope we can move back home to Illinois soon.  This Antarctica business is getting old.  Mother Nature needs to shape up or ship out.  You all keep warm.  Have a nice Super Bowl Sunday, hug your Valentine's, and pray that silly Groundhog brings us good news.  

I wonder if this guy will find his way to our house on Valentine's Day?

I am 2 months old today!  Blake was 18 months yesterday!  I hope you all had a nice Christmas.  My first Christmas was pretty fun and I got so many awesome things!  My daddy says I have too many clothes but my mommy says he will be saying that for the rest of his life.  Speaking of my mommy... she said something about leaving her alone and don't come looking for her.  She was going down to the basement and bellying up to the bar... alone.  My brother was sooooooo crabby today.  And everyone except me (!) is recovering from the nasty flu bug.  She has changed many a nasty diapers and cleaned up her fair share of puke this past week.  Sorry about that last visual!  It's true though.  I sent myself to my room all day yesterday because I didn't want to catch that junk.

Yeah, what Kendall told you is true.  I caught the flu bug... twice... Uffda!  Thank you for all the prayers you sent me a couple weeks ago.  I had my tubes put in!  All went well.  So now that my ears got fixed I had to get something, right?  Murphy's law says so.  We went into the big, big city of Chicago to the Children's Hospital.  The procedure was short and sweet but, lemme tell ya, I wasn't a happy camper coming out of the anesthesia!  Nothing a nap on the way home couldn't cure.  When I woke up I wanted lunch and I was fine.  Now we just pray they do their job.

I, too, had a very nice Christmas.  I got some fun things.  You should all come over and play with me! Santa...  well...  let's just say... we'll try again next year. HA! So I wasn't a fan?  Sue me!  Kendall liked him but she's too young to understand what a scary monster he is!  I'll have to warn her next year.

I turned 16 AND 17 months old since I last wrote to you!  Are you all taking naps after crazy Black Friday shopping?  We did a very quick stop last night to Best Buy... Well, actually, Daddy did.  Mommy wanted no part of that madness so she stayed in the car with us.  Needless to say, our new TV is being installed as we speak.

Do I have news for you (even though I know you all know already)!  I got a baby SISTER!  And she's already 1 month old (yesterday)!  Please join me in welcoming Kendall Kay Dixon!  She's a real treat.  I have to admit... I really like my baby sister.  It took me a few days but I have adjusted to her quite nicely.  I help give her paci, I "shh" her when she cries, I give her lots of hugs and kisses... Don't get me wrong, though - she gets head butts and smacks too. But, those just result in mommy and daddy yelling and me getting in trouble.  Maybe one day I'll learn better.

My mommy and Kendall came home from the hospital on Halloween.  Despite the crappy weather I did go trick-or-treating to a few neighbors.  I was Nemo!  I loved my costume and requested to wear it quite often.  Which reminds me.  Where is that costume? My mommy must have hidden it...

I do have a prayer request from you all.  I'll be having my ear tube surgery in 2 weeks.  I was supposed to have it earlier this week but it got postponed for a few reasons.  And wouldn't you know I have a double ear infection as we speak.  I hope those things bring me some relief!

Hello!  I'm Kendall!  So this is the blog Blake's been telling me about...  And yes - I managed my first belly pic shoot.  One month old already!  I do what most babies do... eat, sleep, sleep some more, eat again, and poop!  While my daddy is already having anxiety attacks about me going to prom (thanks to my mommy's work history), my mommy is having a ball dressing me and seeing all the pink and bows and polka dots.   If there's one thing I've learned in my short time here on Earth so far, it's the fact that I was born into a wonderful circle of family and friends!  The generosity and outpouring of love has been awesome!  Thank you for the nice warm welcome!

That's about all that's warm.  Brrr it's cold outside!  Is it always like this?  Some white stuff has been flying around too???  I guess we are in for the long haul.  A few months of this, you tell me?  I will just learn to appreciate the few short months of beautiful weather we get... or convince my parents to move to Hawaii.  This cold stuff is for the BIRDS!!

Blake and I were just told to wrap it up.  We've got Christmas decorating to do!  Time to pack up the pumpkins and scarecrows and turn our new home into a Christmas wonderland!  We're going to light a fire, turn on the Christmas music and brew some hot chocolate.  Enjoy this warm and fuzzy season to come.  It was nice to write you all for the first time.
