Introducing my new baby...

Happy, Happy Thanksgiving!   It's nice to see you all again as its been awhile.  Did you sleep off your turkey and pumpkin pie comas?

I turned 16 AND 17 months old since I last wrote to you!  Are you all taking naps after crazy Black Friday shopping?  We did a very quick stop last night to Best Buy... Well, actually, Daddy did.  Mommy wanted no part of that madness so she stayed in the car with us.  Needless to say, our new TV is being installed as we speak.

The night before we met Kendall!
Do I have news for you (even though I know you all know already)!  I got a baby SISTER!  And she's already 1 month old (yesterday)!  Please join me in welcoming Kendall Kay Dixon!  She's a real treat.  I have to admit... I really like my baby sister.  It took me a few days but I have adjusted to her quite nicely.  I help give her paci, I "shh" her when she cries, I give her lots of hugs and kisses... Don't get me wrong, though - she gets head butts and smacks too. But, those just result in mommy and daddy yelling and me getting in trouble.  Maybe one day I'll learn better.
Halloween 2013!  Ladybug and Nemo!

Our 2013 pumpkins!!!

What?  You don't carve pumpkins half naked?
My mommy and Kendall came home from the hospital on Halloween.  Despite the crappy weather I did go trick-or-treating to a few neighbors.  I was Nemo!  I loved my costume and requested to wear it quite often.  Which reminds me.  Where is that costume? My mommy must have hidden it...

I do have a prayer request from you all.  I'll be having my ear tube surgery in 2 weeks.  I was supposed to have it earlier this week but it got postponed for a few reasons.  And wouldn't you know I have a double ear infection as we speak.  I hope those things bring me some relief!

Hello world!

Siblings meeting for the first time :)
Hello!  I'm Kendall!  So this is the blog Blake's been telling me about...  And yes - I managed my first belly pic shoot.  One month old already!  I do what most babies do... eat, sleep, sleep some more, eat again, and poop!  While my daddy is already having anxiety attacks about me going to prom (thanks to my mommy's work history), my mommy is having a ball dressing me and seeing all the pink and bows and polka dots.   If there's one thing I've learned in my short time here on Earth so far, it's the fact that I was born into a wonderful circle of family and friends!  The generosity and outpouring of love has been awesome!  Thank you for the nice warm welcome!
Cozy with my mommy and daddy.

That's about all that's warm.  Brrr it's cold outside!  Is it always like this?  Some white stuff has been flying around too???  I guess we are in for the long haul.  A few months of this, you tell me?  I will just learn to appreciate the few short months of beautiful weather we get... or convince my parents to move to Hawaii.  This cold stuff is for the BIRDS!!

Blake introduced me to Sunny!
Blake and I were just told to wrap it up.  We've got Christmas decorating to do!  Time to pack up the pumpkins and scarecrows and turn our new home into a Christmas wonderland!  We're going to light a fire, turn on the Christmas music and brew some hot chocolate.  Enjoy this warm and fuzzy season to come.  It was nice to write you all for the first time.

Love, Blake and Kendall   XOXO

15 Months!

October 1st!  I'm 15 months old! (and a few days)...  And let me just start out by taking a deep breath.  It's been one. crazy. month.  Whew!

Welcome to our new home!

The movers are here!
And things just got real!

We were FULL!
We are officially moved!  I wasn't quite sure what was going on through all the chaos.  We came to the new house for a full week and there was lots of cleaning and painting and commotion.  Then one day I showed up and all my stuff was here!  What is going on?  The first night I was not having my crib, or my room, or anything.  I just wanted mommy or daddy to hold me and sleep with them... and that pretty much went on for more than a few days.  But now I've realized this is our new home and I know my room.  I will even go in the basement to my toy room (if the lights are on) by myself.  Mommy brought me to our old house and when my neighbor friends came out I ran up to each of them and hugged them!  It was fun to see them.  I know I'll meet new friends and love it here too.

My crib got taken apart for preparation...
This only lasted for 20 mins.
Seeing my stuff in my new room for the first time?!

The morning after our first night... Sad? Mad? Tired?
Maybe all of the above.

I was "helping" pack up the last of my things.

At least we have garbage trucks here too.

In between all the craziness my mommy turned another year older and mommy and daddy also celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary!  I don't think we even had cake on my mommy's birthday?! Isn't that what we do on birthdays?  I love cake!  She was OK with that because she treated herself to a grande soy chai latte and savored every last sip and calorie!

Our family of 4 ;)
Just this past weekend I had my first gig as ring bearer.  Considering how the rehearsal went and my mood on the way to the actual event, I'd say I certainly surprised everyone by my stellar performance!  My mom lead me out and pointed to daddy waiting for me at the other end... and I started running right for him!  But, instead I ran right up to the photographer and gave her a big hug!  Then, eventually, I made my way to the end and everyone clapped and laughed.  I had a ball when the dancing started.  I was EVERYWHERE! Laughing, clapping, doing turns, laying down and break dancing, going up to random women, lifting my arms and they'd pick me up and dance me all over the floor...  After about an hour of this. I crashed. And I crashed hard.  And who says you need alcohol to have fun?
Nothin' like a sharp dressed man, right mommy?

This man was trying out my sweet moves with me!

Aaaand... I'm done.
Playing with the itzy, bitzy spider.
We are 1 month away from the debut of my baby brother or sister!  Are you thinking blue or pink? Regardless, mommy says this week our goal is to get everything washed up and ready to go.  And perhaps we should get furniture in his/her room?  We are all getting very excited!  I wonder if I really know what's about to hit me...
This big slide was awesome!

Enjoy fall!  October is a beautiful month.  Time for pumpkin carving, pumpkin bars, chai tea lattes, beautiful fall colors, fall festivals, pumpkin farms and so much more.  I'm still deciding what I'm going to be for Halloween...  maybe I be a big brother? Get it?!?!

Love, Blake XOXO

Happy Fall!

Trying to find the perfect pumpkins for my and my baby.

Hello Everyone!  I hope this finds you well!  I haven't written in a while but here I am - 14 months today!  Are you all enjoying your summer?  I know I am.  We've been having some fun! County fairs, festivals, Lake Geneva, pool parties, zoos, lots of playing outside, and packing!

Packing, you ask?  Yep! Packing!  We're moving in a few weeks!  We actually closed on our house 2 weeks ago.  It's in Woodstock.  I'm really excited to have a yard and a basement to run around and be my crazy self.  Well, maybe mommy and daddy are more excited for that part... ;) My mommy says its a little bittersweet.  There are many memories within the 4 walls of our now house.  Afterall, my daddy did ask her to marry her right in the loft and she brought her first born home to this house.  But, on to bigger and better things!  Time for a new chapter!  Soon we'll be bringing the second-born home to our new home.

Speaking of the second-born.  All is well with him or her.  Dr. Meyer says its going to be another biggen'!  We will just have to wait and see.  I've been helping with the packing of all the baby stuff.  Seeing my swing, baby carrier, and Sunny really brightened my day.  Do you remember Sunny?  I pretty much drag Sunny all over the house.  He gets put in a box but I always seem to find him and right back out he comes.  I can't wait to show new baby all our fun things.  Oh!  And if you ask me where my new baby is I'll point at mommy's tummy... and blow them kisses :)

Just waiting on my new brother or sister now...
There's more pictures than usual this time so I'll keep my yapping to a minimum.  Enjoy the rest of summer!  Humid and toasty this next week so keep cool.  I'll chat with y'all in September!  Peace out.

XOXO, Blake and Baby Dixon #2

Enjoying Lake Geneva for Daddy's birthday!
Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Morning ritual... Drink my milk and watch cartoons.

Nightly Ritual... but usually in my own bed.  Let's see...
what was my issue this time, right mommy and daddy?
Time for seriousness.

Just kidding!
